confession of faith

We are a Confessional Church

 What is a Confessional Church?
We are a confessional church, which means we hold to a written statement that summarizes what we believe the Bible teaches. This confession is not equal to the Bible, but it helps us clearly explain our faith and stay grounded in sound doctrine. It shows what we believe about God, salvation, the church, and how we should live. Having a confession protects the church from confusion and helps us stay united in the truth. It also helps others understand what we teach and why we teach it.

1689 Baptist Confession of Faith

History

The 1689 Baptist Confession of Faith was written over 300 years ago by a group of Reformed Baptist churches in England. It was meant to show that their beliefs were rooted in Scripture and consistent with historic Christian teaching. This confession helped churches stay united and faithful during times of confusion and persecution.

Read the Confession Here

You can read the full 1689 Confession of Faith here. We believe it’s important to study the whole confession because it clearly explains what we believe the Bible teaches. It also helps Christians grow in understanding and defend their faith with clarity and conviction.

Why the 1689?

We chose the 1689 Confession because it clearly expresses our convictions about God, salvation, the church, and how we should live. It is faithful to Scripture, rich in truth, and tested over time. While not equal to the Bible, it helps us guard our teaching and walk together in unity as a local church.
